In late May at the annual NCCSS retreat, president-elect Marie Testa recognized and honored Farmingdale School District Superintendent Paul Defendini for his year of service as president of the Council.

Four superintendents were also honored for their years of service and upcoming retirement including Jericho Union Free School District Superintendent Hank Grishman, Malverne School District Superintendent Dr. Lorna Lewis, Merrick Union Free School District Superintendent Dr. Dominick Palma and Floral Park-Bellerose School District Superintendent Lisa Ruiz.
